Freelance workers for specific projects

The rules have also been rewritten for freelance collaboration. Firms may use workers on a project basis, not as employees, but with responsibility for completing a project or a programme of work or a stage of one. The freelancer must provide work which is exclusively his/her own, or mainly so, agreeing directly with the work provider the precise terms regarding method of execution, duration, criteria and payment terms. The relationship shall end upon conclusion of the project.

An interesting new item is occasional work, for sporadic low-skilled work (small gardening tasks, building cleaning and maintenance, preparation of social, cultural or charitable demonstrations, etc…). Employers may purchase specific vouchers from specialised outlets to be given to the worker when conducting the assignment. The price of the voucher already includes any necessary social charges and insurance. The work itself can not be for any longer than 30 days in one year and can not be for any more than a total payment of € 3,000.
